Venezuela Sin Límites, Unidos en Red and CAF announce at the Starlite Occident Gala an alliance to promote the Venezuela Recovery and Reconsdtruction Fund

Alfonso Cisneros and Telma Ortiz Rocasolano presented the initiative in Marbella, aiming to mobilize resources and partnerships for the country’s sustainable recovery following the June 24 earthquakes.

Marbella, August 12, 2026. Venezuela Sin Límites and Unidos en Red, together with CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, announced an alliance to promote the Venezuela Recovery and Reconstruction Fund. The initiative was presented on August 9 during the XVII Starlite Occident Gala.

The Fund, created and managed by CAF, channels contributions from governments, international organizations, companies, foundations, individuals, and other partners. Its purpose is to support efforts addressing the needs arising from the June 24 earthquakes and to advance the rehabilitation of housing, infrastructure, essential services, and livelihoods.

From immediate response to sustainable reconstruction
Alfonso Cisneros, representing Venezuela Sin Límites and Unidos en Red, highlighted the coordinated response led by civil society and called on companies, institutions, and donors to join the recovery phase.

“Faced with this emergency, Venezuela Sin Límites did not wait: we immediately launched the Venezuela Needs You campaign, established a 24/7 operational collection center, and coordinated efforts with a network of more than 600 nonprofit organizations and hundreds of companies. Today, we are announcing this alliance with CAF to promote this collective effort, and we invite everyone to join us.”

CAF: turning solidarity into reconstruction
Telma Ortiz Rocasolano, Senior Advisor in CAF’s Resource Mobilization and Global Partnerships Management Office, emphasized that recovery requires maintaining commitment beyond the initial humanitarian response.

“A different stage begins now: it is no longer only about responding to the emergency, but about rebuilding, and doing so with greater resilience, greater sustainability, and more opportunities for future generations. Today, we can transform solidarity into action, action into reconstruction, and reconstruction into hope.”

Starlite amplifies the international call for Venezuela

Venezuela Sin Límites and Unidos en Red extend their gratitude to the Starlite Foundation for its ongoing collaboration and, on this occasion, for opening its platform, leveraging its convening power, and providing international visibility to the Fund in order to mobilize additional support.

The presentation before business, cultural, and social leaders reinforced a shared message: Venezuela’s recovery requires coordination, transparency, and sustained participation. Venezuela Sin Límites and Unidos en Red will help connect civil society and the private sector with this CAF-administered mechanism.
