We are thrilled to highlight CAF’s approval of a $3.5 billion financing package, a decision that will enable us to support strategic priorities and address major social, economic, environmental, and infrastructure challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The financing consists of 15 operations in ten countries and includes initiatives related to transportation, electricity grids, road infrastructure, education, climate action, post-disaster recovery, productive development, and the energy transition. The package combines resources for national and local governments, operations targeting the private sector, and mechanisms to mobilize additional financing.
CAF also made $1 billion available to countries in the region to support the populations most vulnerable to floods, droughts, and wildfires associated with the El Niño phenomenon. These actions will be carried out in partnership with governments, development banks, and other stakeholders to strengthen the response capacity of the affected territories.
We are proud to recognize an organization’s ability to turn major regional challenges into concrete investments. We celebrate a decision that brings together resources, cooperation, and a vision for the future to foster a more resilient, integrated, and prosperous Latin America and the Caribbean.
