Carlos Slim Foundation promotes “Train for employment” with the course “Hydroelectric energy for self-consumption”

Due to the modernization of daily activities, natural resources are overexploited to satisfy the needs of users and, consequently, the energy demand has increased, causing a high environmental impact. One way to take advantage of resources in a sustainable way to produce clean and renewable energy is through hydroelectric power.

Given this and to promote learning and acquisition of skills/knowledge among the population, Fundación Carlos Slim, through its Capacítate para empleo platform, offers the course “Hydroelectric energy for self-consumption”, whose objective is for participants to learn the bases for designing and Install a hydroelectric system to power a home.

Through this training, students will learn to:

  • Review the necessary elements to analyze your environment and determine the best alternative to develop a hydroelectric project.
  • Develop risk activities.
  • Perform complex calculations and carefully analyze the data to design a viable and effective project.

The course is free and is aimed at the general public. It consists of four levels divided into several lessons, which are taught through the use of videos, infographics and practical activities. Access the workshop by clicking here.

It is a training platform of the Carlos Slim Foundation, so that people can develop skills in various technical-operative activities in different productive sectors, regardless of their previous experience.
