In the province of Darién, the Education and Training Program “How Much Do You Know?” has marked a milestone in health promotion and HIV prevention. This initiative, led by AID FOR AIDS Panama, has benefited more than 1,400 people in the districts of Pinogana, Chepigana, Santa Fe, Cémaco, and the Emberá-Wounaan Comarca, bringing knowledge and hope to hard-to-reach communities.
With strategies adapted to each age group, the program includes playful activities for children, creative storytelling for pre-adolescents, and interactive dynamics for youth and adults, fostering life skills and reducing stigma associated with HIV. Additionally, more than 300 rapid HIV and syphilis tests have been conducted, accompanied by personalized counseling, strengthening public health in a region with limited access to medical services.
Thanks to strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Health, these actions demonstrate that adapted education can transform vulnerable communities. This joint effort is an inspiring model that transcends borders and changes lives.
