Thanks to the model of the National Transplant Organization, which has been replicated in other countries, Spain reaffirms its position as a world leader in transplants. The country reached a record number of 5,863 organ transplants last year.
Cataluñs and Andalucía are established as the regions with the highest number of procedures, while the national donation rate stands at nearly 50 per million inhabitants, the highest in the world. In Galicia, liver transplants lead the list, with 168 procedures.
This achievement reflects the solidarity of donors and the efficiency of the Spanish healthcare system, which continues to set the standard in Europe.
