Sport and Transplant Spain promotes the value of organ donation

With the victory of the team of healthcare workers and physicians from Jaén, the triangular match held between this team, the National Transplanted Soccer Team and the Real Jaén CF Veterans Association held on the 7-a-side soccer field of the University of Jaén has come to an end. organized by the Spain Sports and Transplant Association (DyTE), as part of the activities it carries out and with a view to holding the first Soccer World Cup for Transplant Patients scheduled for 2024.

The second deputy mayor, África Colomo, and the mayor of Social Policies, Ángeles Díaz, have participated in the delivery of trophies to the teams, according to the Jaén City Council in a statement.

The objective of this call, as explained by the association itself and one of its members, Luciano Díaz from Jaen, is to raise awareness in society about the importance of organ, tissue, bone marrow and blood donation, to thank relatives and donors for their delivers and transmits a message of hope to all people who are going through a disease and require a transplant, not only vital but also with a view to promoting health and sport in transplanted people as a healthy lifestyle habit.

The first deputy mayor, África Colomo, has offered the collaboration of the city council in order to organize some of the sporting events of this association and of the national team. “We are aware of the value of making causes like this visible and the importance of donating organs to save lives and also doing it through the sport that the capital is committed to in all its disciplines,” she points out.
